CHICAGO BEARS VS. GREEN BAY PACKERS

It’s been eight months since Bears’ starters last played in a live football game.

For fans, it’s certainly seemed like an eternity, especially considering the product on the field. But the wait been just as, if not more, agonizing for the players.

“I feel like it’s been forever, seeing that we haven’t played in any preseason games either,” said running back Tarik Cohen, via ChicagoBears.com. “We haven’t had any on Soldier Field action or on anybody else’s field action.”

But Chicago won’t have to wait much longer to kick-off what’s gearing up to be an exciting season of Bears football. The Bears host the Packers for what’s must-see television in tonight’s NFL Kickoff game, jump-starting a historic centennial season both for the NFL and the Bears.

New Green Bay Packers coach Matt LaFleur is already growing weary about questions regarding his relationship with star quarterback Aaron Rodgers. LaFleur will be making his head coaching debut when the Packers face the Chicago Bears on Thursday Night Football (5:20 p.m. PT/8:20 p.m. ET, NBC) in the regular season opener for both teams.

LaFleur and Rogers reportedly had been at odds over the LaFleur’s desire for Rodgers to run the called play and Rogers’ desire to audible. The power struggle apparently has ended, with the 15-year veteran quarterback winning out over the first-year head coach. There will be other issues between the two and if they can’t get on the same page, the Packers (6-9-1 in 2018) may miss the playoffs for the third consecutive season.
